Carrier Oils
Carrier oils are also known as, Base oils or Vegetable oils. Base oils are vegetable, nut or seed oils, many of which in themselves have great therapeutic qualities.
Essential oils in their pure state are to concentrated to be used directly on the skin and you will therefore need to dilute them with a carrier oil, to "carry" the essential oil over your skin. Vegetable, Nut & Seed oils can also be incorporated into bodycare products and soaps.
Olive Oil
Olea europaea
Known in Mediterranean countries as a "healing oil".Olive Oil is obtained by the pressing of ripe olives. It is rich in minerals, proteins and
vitamins. It is a natural moisturizer, it feeds, softens and
lubricates the skin. Olive oil is commonly used in creams,
lotions, hair treatments and soaps. Use 100% Cold Pressed
and use in 10% dilution with another carrier oil.
