Carrier oils are also known as, Base oils or Vegetable oils. Base oils are vegetable, nut or seed oils, many of which in themselves have great therapeutic qualities.
Essential oils in their pure state are to concentrated to be used directly on the skin and you will therefore need to dilute them with a carrier oil, to "carry" the essential oil over your skin. Vegetable, Nut & Seed oils can also be incorporated into bodycare products and soaps.

Rosehip Oil Rosa rubiginosa This oil is cold pressed from rosehips; the small, round, orange/red fruit that sits behind the flower and will carry the seeds after the rose has bloomed. Rosehip Oil is used as a nutritive oil in a 10% dilution with other vegetable oils. [Back to Carrier Oils]
