Wheatgerm Oil

Carrier oils are also known as, Base oils or Vegetable oils. Base oils are vegetable, nut or seed oils, many of which in themselves have great therapeutic qualities.
Essential oils in their pure state are to concentrated to be used directly on the skin and you will therefore need to dilute them with a carrier oil, to "carry" the essential oil over your skin. Vegetable, Nut & Seed oils can also be incorporated into bodycare products and soaps.

Wheatgerm Oil is derived from the germ of wheat kernels. It has a strong wheat odor which inhibits its use in some cosmetics. It contains many vitamins especially A & E, as well as minerals. It is used for all skin types, especially prematurely aging skin. It inhibits oxidation therefore rarely turns rancid. It is often added to other oils to extend their stability. Only use cold pressed oil and use in 10% dilution with other carrier oils.
